Region 6 Rehabilitation Continuing Education Center
BridgeWorks TeleTraining
SERVICES
- Region 6 RCEC offers its BridgeWorks TeleTraining training services using a telephone bridge system that allows multiple users access to the teleclass at the same time.
- TeleTraining services provide the learner with an in-depth learning experience, access to subject matter experts, and the convenience of learning via the telephone at home, in the office, or on the road.
- The TeleTraining service approach makes information available when and where the learner needs to access it.
- The Region 6 RCEC Web Site service is available to learners to enhance the TeleClass learning experience. Internet access is not required to participate in BridgeWorks TeleTraining.
FEATURES
- The learners can choose a topic and time (as announced) that fits their schedule.
- After completing the registration process, the learner is given the a "bridge line" number, calls in at the designated class time, announces that they are on the line, and begins participation in the teleclass.
- The learner has access to "subject matter experts" via the convenience of their telephone and participates with others throughout the region....thus enhancing the learning experience.
- Class materials are sent via postal mail to the learner prior to the chosen TeleClass for pre-class review and ongoing assignments.
- All information and instructions that are specific to a scheduled TeleClass will be forwarded prior to the first teleclass, i.e. bridge line telephone number for the class, learner objectives, content overview, learner expectations, class dates and time schedules, special announcements, course completion requirements, continuing education credit information, etc.
- Most teleclasses meet for one hour weekly and are facilitated by an experienced trainer who is considered a subject matter expert in the TeleClass topic area.
- Registration fees cover all TeleClass materials and instruction.
-
The learner and/or sponsoring organization pays the long distance charges for accessing each teleclass via the telephone.
BENEFITS
- No expense outlay for air fare, auto mileage, meals, hotels and other travel related expenses.
- Training is as close as the telephone with long distance and registration as your only expense. You can access information and topics of interest at the time when you need it.
- Teleclasses are accessible in the home, office or "on the road" via the telephone.
- Choose from a variety of topics.....basic to advanced.
-
Each course is pre-approved for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor continuing education credits.
How to Participate
Pick up your telephone. If you have call-waiting, please disable it first by dialing *70 and wait for the dial tone. Dial the "bridge line" telephone number that was released to you by your TeleClass facilitator at the scheduled teleclass date and time. All teleclass times are announced in Central Standard Time (CST). Call in at the scheduled teleclass time. Do not call early. Wait until you are welcomed by the teleclass facilitator. You may call in late. Other participants will hear a "beep" that alerts the teleclass that someone has just dialed in on the teleclass. The TeleCourse "bridge" telephone service system is automatic.....there is no operator. Please do not call the bridge number provided to you at any other time.....only call at your scheduled teleclass time. If you are the first person to call in on the scheduled teleclass, the line will ring and continue ringing until the second person calls in and then you are immediately connected as a teleclass.
TIPS FOR TELECLASS PARTICIPANTS
Please do not use a speaker phone during the teleclasses..... the sound is annoying and produces feedback noise. If you have a two-line phone or other phones in your office, room or home, please turn off all ringers before calling in to your scheduled teleclass. If you are using a headset with your telephone, please ensure that it is close to your mouth in order to increase the clarity and volume of your voice. If you are bringing several persons to the teleclass bridge line via three-way calling, please remember that the persons on the three-way line may not be able to hear clearly. This is a problem with three-way call lines. It is usually better for person A to call person B.... then person B calls the teleclass "bridge" line number. Please refrain from breathing directly into the telephone mouthpiece so as to maintain a clear "noise free" teleclass. You will receive coaching as to proper teleclass etiquette during your first teleclass session by your teleclass facilitator that will enhance your enjoyment and learning.
TELECLASS LONG DISTANCE CHARGES
You or your organization pay only for regular long distance charges for each teleclass by your respective long distance carrier service. There are no other or hidden charges.....only the long distance rate charged by your long distance carrier. The Region 6Rehabilitation Continuing Education Center leases and operates the Region 6 RCEC BridgeWorks TeleTraining bridge line service and receives no monies or profit from long distance calls. Check with your long distance company for time and per minute or per hour rates.
