Class Description
Learn why hearing aids are not enough when determining accommodations for a client with hearing loss. If you don’t consider all the functional needs, you can severely limit the potential solutions available to meet the varied communication demands of workplace environments. We’ll start with the basics of hearing loss, understanding audiograms and discuss hearing aid technologies and implants. Assistive listening systems are discussed, digital streamers are explained and potential alerting systems for work environments are shared.

Becky Morris
Becky Morris is an ALD Specialist (assistive listening devices or hearing assistance technology) and President of Beyond Hearing Aids, Inc. Becky combines 19 years of experience in technology and her love of training to produce technical training for vocational rehabilitation counselors and audiologists. She is an author, international presenter and trainer and best known for bringing technology to life. Her articles have been published in the major hearing care journals, she is a contributing author to a training book for the International Hearing Society and author of “On the Job with Hearing Loss’. Her ALD training website is full of articles related to all things related to hearing loss and assistive technology.
