Overview
For nearly fifty years, the Institute on Rehabilitation Issues (IRI) has been a
national forum for discussing important challenges facing the state-federal
vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs and the community rehabilitation program
partners. The Institute on Rehabilitation Issues (IRI) is a singular activity
where human resource directors, administrators, practitioners, and academicians
with expertise in a specific area of VR meet to thoroughly discuss a particular
topic. An IRI publication follows that is used in training staff in state VR
agencies and community rehabilitation programs, as well as in training
university students and service delivery personnel in other VR settings.
Participation in the IRI Prime Study Groups is a honor bestowed on individuals
who meet the highest standards of professionalism, demonstrate knowledge, skills
and abilities in discussing VR issues, and demonstrate the ability in
formulating written IRI documents containing the results of their Prime Study
Group assignments.
