This webinar will focus on the fundamental information of how to work with clients who identify as Lesbian (L), Gay (G), Bisexual (B), Queer (Q), along with newer terminology (+) of how people identify their sexuality. The aim of this training is for this to not just be a lecture but an open dialogue to ask questions so that you can become an ally to the LGBQ+ community.    This training will focus on terminology, important history of the LGBQ+ community, as well as best practices of working with clients who identify as LGBQ+.

The next  part of the webinar will cover topics specific to transgender individuals, including appropriate language to use when talking to or about transgender people, some of what is involved in the gender transition process, and what kind of support transgender people need in institutional and vocational settings. Questions and dialogue are welcome.
